The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are water resistant,With latest technic purposes

Apple yesterday unleashed the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as its first dust and water resistant iPhones, thanks to the IP67 certification. This means they are 100 percent resistant to dust and should survive being submerged under a metre of water for up to 30 minutes. The idea isn’t to take them swimming, but they can survive accidental drops in pools, sinks, and the shower, and the odd downpour. However, Apple mentions that splash, water and dust resistance are not permanent as conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of wear and tear. Also, Apple won’t cover liquid damage on the new iPhones under the warranty, so don’t count on the brand to replace them at no charge.

Just a few hours ago, the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus went on sale in 28 regions across the globe. As expected, soon after the sale began, do-it-yourself repair site iFixit, best known for its tear downs of devices, has ripped apart the brand new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and detailed what’s inside. The tear down of both phones reveals all the details that the company doesn’t mention in the features sheet, including RAM and battery capacity.

Talking about the iPhone 7 first, iFixit reveals that the phone gets 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM, made by Samsung. The phone is fuelled by a 1,960mAh battery, which is significantly more powerful than the 1,715mAh unit found on the iPhone 6s. The teardown also reveals that the iPhone 7 gets a Qualcomm MDM9645M LTE Cat. 12 Modem. However, in some regions, the phone packs in an Intel modem.

As for the iPhone 7 Plus, its tear down reveals that the phone offers 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM, also manufactured by Samsung. The phone packs in a 2,900mAh battery, which is beefier than the 2,750mAh unit found on the iPhone 6s Plus. iFixit’s teardown reveals that the iPhone 7 Plus features a Qualcomm MDM9645M LTE. Cat 12 modem.

Apart from the hardware, another notable finding by iFixit was about what Apple placed in iPhone 7 Plus where the 3.5mm headphone jack used to be in the earlier models. The freed space is now occupied by a barometric vent and the Taptic Engine for the new pressure-sensitive Home button. For those unaware, the barometer sensor in a phone measures atmospheric pressure. So, as you may have noticed, the new iPhones have speaker grilles on each side of the Lightning connector, but there’s still only a single speaker on the right side.
